فتحي بن لزرق يلتقي وفد المفوضية السامية لحقوق الإنسان
استقبل الصحفي فتحي بن لزرق، المدير العام لمؤسسة عدن الغد للإعلام، اليوم بمكتبه في عدن، وفدًا من المفوضية السامية للأمم المتحدة لحقوق الإنسان (OHCHR)، حيث استعرض خلال اللقاء تفاصيل واقعة الإغلاق الأخيرة التي تعرضت لها الصحيفة، وحادثة الاعتقال التي طالت بن لزرق قبل أيام.
وأوضح ناصر الشعيبي، منسق ومراقب حقوق الإنسان في المفوضية، أن الأخيرة تابعت الحادثة منذ وقوعها، وفتحت ملفًا رسميًا بالواقعة، ورفعته إلى الجهات الدولية المعنية، في إطار متابعة المفوضية لحالات الانتهاك التي تمس حرية الصحافة وحقوق الصحفيين في اليمن.
وخلال اللقاء، قدّم بن لزرق شرحًا مفصلًا لملابسات الاعتقال والإغلاق، مؤكدًا أن ما جرى كان تصرفًا فرديًا بحتًا لا علاقة له بالمجلس الانتقالي الجنوبي أو السلطات المحلية في عدن، مشيرًا إلى أن المجلس الانتقالي كان ولا يزال من أبرز الداعمين لحرية الصحافة والإعلام في العاصمة المؤقتة.
كما عبّر بن لزرق عن تقديره الكبير لمحافظ عدن أحمد حامد لملس، مثنيًا على موقفه “المشرف والداعم لحرية الصحافة”، ودوره في معالجة الموقف بسرعة ومسؤولية.
وفي ختام اللقاء، وجّه مدير مؤسسة عدن الغد شكره للسفارات الأمريكية والبريطانية والفرنسية على تضامنها ومواقفها الداعمة خلال حادثة الاعتقال، معتبرًا أن تلك المواقف كان لها أثر كبير في تعزيز العدالة ودعم حرية الرأي والتعبير.
وأكد بن لزرق أن مؤسسة عدن الغد ستواصل أداء رسالتها الإعلامية بكل مهنية واستقلالية، وستبقى “مدافعة عن حرية الكلمة كحق أصيل لا يمكن مصادرته”.
Statement by Fathi Bin Lazrq

Today, at my office in Aden Al-Ghad Foundation, I received a delegation from the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR). The delegation listened to a full briefing from me regarding the recent closure of the newspaper and the arrest incident that I was subjected to a few days ago.
Mr. Nasser Al-Shaeebi, Human Rights Coordinator and Monitor at the OHCHR, explained that the Commission has been following the incident since it occurred, opened an official file on the case, and submitted it to the relevant international bodies as part of its ongoing monitoring of violations affecting freedom of the press and journalists’ rights in Yemen.
During the meeting, I explained in detail the circumstances surrounding the arrest and closure, emphasizing that what happened was an individual act that had nothing to do with the Southern Transitional Council or the governing authorities in Aden. I stressed that the Council has been, and continues to be, one of the strongest supporters of press freedom and media work in the temporary capital, Aden.
I also expressed my deep appreciation for the Governor of Aden, Mr. Ahmed Hamed Lamlas, whose stance was honorable and supportive of press freedom, and who played an effective role in resolving the situation swiftly and responsibly.
In this regard, I extended my sincere thanks and gratitude to our friends at the U.S., British, and French embassies for their solidarity and supportive positions at the moment of arrest, which had a significant impact in reinforcing justice and defending freedom of opinion and expression.
Aden Al-Ghad Foundation will continue to carry out its professional mission with full independence and responsibility and will remain steadfast in defending freedom of speech as a fundamental right that cannot be taken away.
