مواجهة حاسمة في عدن..مسلحون يحاصرون مبنى البحث الجنائي في عدن والأمن يرفض الخضوع

The Criminal Investigation Department building in Khor Maksar district of the capital Aden witnessed a state of security alert this morning after a number of gunmen surrounded the building in an attempt to pressure the security services to release a person who was arrested in possession of a quantity of alcohol, in addition to a girl who was with him.

Security sources told Aden Al-Ghad newspaper that the accused were detained for investigation in accordance with legal procedures before a number of gunmen arrived at the vicinity of the building demanding their release, which led to tension in the vicinity of the Criminal Investigation Department.

The sources confirmed that the security services refused to respond to any pressure or attempts to influence the course of legal procedures and insisted on continuing to detain the accused in order to complete the investigations and refer them to the competent authorities.

The sources added that the situation remained under control and the militants' attempts to force the security services to release the detainees were unsuccessful, amid assurances that the law would continue to be applied without any pressure or interference.
