Educational sources reported that the Houthi group forced female students in several schools in the Jabalah district of Ibb governorate to chant sectarian slogans and threatened to impose severe penalties on anyone who refused to participate in these activities.

The sources explained that the Houthi threats directed at the female students included preventing them from continuing their studies, which led to a state of anxiety and strong rejection among the female students and their parents in the district.

The sources added that these repressive measures come in the context of a broad campaign carried out by the group within schools located in areas under its control, with the intention of intensifying mobilization activities and instilling its ideological ideas among male and female students, amid increasing local complaints about the exploitation of educational institutions for non-educational purposes.

According to the sources, the group has been making systematic changes to the educational process for years, including replacing the national anthem and usual school activities with sectarian slogans and events, in addition to introducing extensive modifications to the curricula to align with its intellectual orientations.
