The Taiz Governorate Police announced the arrest of the suspect in the shooting incident that took place in the city of Al-Turbah, south of the governorate, confirming that it has begun its procedures to uncover the circumstances of the incident and complete the legal investigations in preparation for referring the entire case to the competent authorities so that the perpetrator receives his just punishment.

The Taiz Police Media Center explained that the security services are continuing to gather the necessary information and carry out the required technical and legal procedures to ensure access to all details of the incident and to take strict measures against all those involved without exception.

In a related context, activists and human rights advocates condemned what they described as the inadequate media coverage of the heinous crime in which an elderly citizen was killed and three other people were injured. They denounced the Taiz police's description of the incident as merely a shooting, stressing that it is a major crime that requires an accurate description reflecting its extreme seriousness and calls for firm accountability for those involved, in order to avoid leniency in cases that affect the lives of civilians and the stability of society.
